Most Beautiful Sunday in Seattle Ever

Today was the most beautiful Sunday in memory in Seattle. Certainly the most beautiful Sunday in February! It was sunny, 59 degrees, crisp and lovely. Dave and Levi celebrated by going to GasWorks park.

Milo and I celebrated by being sick. Poor thing has a low fever and throws up a the thought of food. It is important to know that I am not kidding. Today he sat in his high chair and I offered him some hot cereal, you know, it is easy on the stomach. I asked him if he wanted it and he said “yes”. Then he said “no” and threw up. It was the saddest thing ever.

Sunny Seattle

It was a strangely sunny in Seattle, for winter. So, with Dave in LA for the TCAs, I had a day at the park with the boys! Levi loves the swings!Milo waiting for Mommy to stop taking photos and start pushing already!

We are in our new house!

Now that we are here, getting out and away from the endless boxes... boxes.... BOXES is more important than ever. So, we go to the playground that belongs to the school next door. It was a particularly fall-ish day...

Stay tuned for Halloween photos!

By Jove, I Think She's Got It!

Check out this expert from Twinparenting.com. I think we'll all recognize that we suffer from TES.

Are you a victim of Twin Escalation Syndrome?
Twin Escalation Syndrome (TES) is the tendency for twins, triples, or more to feed upon each others behaviors, and to escalate the behaviors in reaction to each other. TES. If you are a parent of multiples, you’ve got it. Every day.

If one multiple gets scolded for bad behavior, the other(s) must immediately perform the same action that resulted in the scolding – and often build on the behavior – bigger, bolder, “badder”. If one screams, the others scream louder.

In fact, Twin Escalation Syndrome often results in behavior that is so over the top, we’re not just talking “double trouble”. You’ve got the bad behavior of one, added to the bad behavior of the other, and then intensified — exponentially. Sometimes it seems that every bad behavior of one is picked up and mimicked by the other(s).

Laurelhurst Park

Today was the first time I've been out of the house since Tuesday, the flu is finally going away. So, what did we do? We went looking at houses, naturally. We found ourselves at another house in Laurelhurst, which is only 1.5 blocks from the awesome Laurelhurst Park. We had our first experience with a tire swing today! Levi didn't get it and couldn't sit on the tire - he wanted to slip through. Milo, on the other hand, instantly understood it.

Grab the chains!
Hold on tight!

Enjoy the view while Mommy swings you!

Whoops (see Milo 'sitting' under the swing?)!
Milo says "Didn't hurt... just my swingmaster ego..."

Beach Boys

We visited Matthew's Beach park again this weekend. The weather was lovely and the water had warmed up enough to allow for the boys to.... TOUCH THE WATER! Enjoy the images of their first real encounter with the beach.

They got utterly soaked and covered in sand. It was the world's best water table! Good thing we have tiny bathing suits handed down to us from Gavin.

Other notable things this week:

- Milo knows where his toes are. And your toes. We discovered this when I asked Milo if he wanted toast and he laughed and pointed to his feet.

- The boys really like spicy food. They rebelled against bland potatoes and toast and I, frustrated, put spicy black beans and SoyRizo on their trays. And they loved it!

- I have discovered a deep and lasting love for baking muffins. We've had several batches lately, but the best is this Morning Glory recipe. I swapped the white flour for whole wheat, and cut the sugar in half. Next time I'll add some shredded zucchini and some chopped dates.

- No more bottles! We finally made the switch to sippy cups. Yay!

- The boys have been watching Michael Jackson videos all weekend with us. Milo's favorite is Billie Jean from Mowtown 25 and Levi likes Workin Day and Night (there are so many endings to this performance even Michael gets confused!).

A Trip to Magnussen Park

We all had a little coffee before we headed off to Magnussen Park.
Levi says "HAAAIIIIGH!!!". The way the iPhone camera warps close-ups makes this photo even sillier.

Pileup on the slide. Traffic was rerouted for hours.

Boy in a bubble.

Contemplative Milo.

Mommy and Milo having a walk.

There was a Humane Society adopt-a-thon going on at the park... we very nearly came home with a five year old Beagle named Beau.

Well, At Least Someone Had Fun

They were really enjoying swinging at the park in Queen Anne. That is, until Mommy stopped their swinging to take a sweet photo with her boys. Then they remembered they were hungry, teething (Milo's got ALL FOUR molars coming in at once and Levi has already popped two with two more days away!), and not swinging anymore.

Here Comes The Sun

Finally! Seattle delivers a GORGEOUS weekend day. We went to our new favorite park at Matthews Beach to play.
The boys enjoyed rocking on this big-boy plane. Until Levi tried to throw himself overboard.
The baby version of the Indiana Jones bridge was a big hit. They cruised back and forth for 20 minutes. And Levi discovered how delicious the metal chains are. Yum!

Ever Had Your Hair Done By A Moo-Cow?

Dahling, if you have the means, you really must have your hair done by a little moo-cow. It is an experience not to be missed.

Levi, our moo-cow, had another first yesterday. He rode in the shopping cart at Trader Joe's like a BIG boy! No babies here who need their portable car seats... nope. Nobody here but us grown up moo-cows.
PS - Thanks for the cute cow outfit (a "cowtfit") Gramma Carol.

Super Swinging Siblings!

Sunday was a beautiful day here in Seattle. So we met some friends at the swing set at Ravenna Park and we swung the afternoon away. The guys are still small enough that they share one bucket swing - fitting in back to back. They really seem to enjoy swinging - even though Milo does not quite know what to make of it. Anyhow, them sharing a swing is quite a sight to see!
Milo smiling for the camera

Levi is contemplative even on the swingset!
