First Day of playschool!

September 14th, 2011 — 12:32am

We got into the plasychool that we were waitlisted for, Sandhurst Co-Op. Today was an open house, slow start. All the parents stayed with the kids and, though they started hesitant, the boys ended the day by asking to stay for “so many more hours”!

Here we are just before walking off to playschool!

Look Mommy, no hands!

August 4th, 2011 — 2:15am

I just got my very first, un-ironic, real life, “Look Mommy, no hands!” It happened while the boys were riding their (terribly undersized) toddler ride-along toys, at the end of a lap of the “View Ridge 500″… Milo sailed by with his hands up and said “Look Mommy, no hands!”

Being a mommy is the awesomest thing in the world.

Wedded bliss

Jennifer got married yesterday! We would show you photos of the beautiful bride, the handsome groom, or the lovely location, but the boys were too rambunctious to sit through more than three minutes of the ceremony. So, here is what is looked like behind, around, and away from the wedding.

The party is over.  According to the boys, playschool worse than ten holocausts.

First, ever, day of playschool!

July 28th, 2011 — 2:51am

Well, Jennifer is on vacation getting married and honeymooning. Which means that we found another way for the boys to spend their days. I’ve been completely angtsy over this for MONTHS. We decided to take them to Bright Horizons playschool. We took the boys to see it last night and they thought it was fun and wanted to come back. BUT…. the boys did say all kinds of things like “Will Mommy and Daddy stay with me all day?” and “I don’t want to be lonely.” and “I think Daddy and Mommy should stay with me all day long.”

This made me think today would be awful. But… it wasn’t! Dave dropped the boys off this morning because I knew I could not possibly handle, what I thought would be, a meltdown of epic proportions. But no! The boys were just a little shy but were off and playing before Dave even left the place!

They loved it! They played all day, had snacks, played with friends, and even napped! They said they wanted to come back “every day” and that they loved it.

When I went to pick them up today Levi was pushing his body, limb by limb, through the gate in the playground to get to me (happily), but Milo just kept on playing with trucks.

This is what they looked like when I picked them up.
