November 25th, 2013 — 4:55pm

The boys are continuing their Karate awesomeness by passing their Little Dragon belt test! First up, Levi!

Milo follows with an impressive showing (even if the camerawork is less than impressive)!

Dawgs as teachers? At the EEU, you bet.

November 25th, 2013 — 4:47pm

Every week the boys casually mention that one or the other of their teachers is a Husky player and can’t be at class that day because he had to play. Which they think is no big deal. But in Seattle everyone else thinks it is a HUGE DEAL.

Teacher Andrew – Levi says Andrew plays tag with us on the playground and wins every time!

Teacher Taz – but he has a broken arm. Milo says he had the ball and a lot of people “attackled” him, that’s how he broke it.

It’s A Wonderful Life. Goddamnit.

November 10th, 2013 — 4:42pm

So, we’ve had a pretty hard time lately. Mostly me, and “hard” does not begin to describe it. But we’ve been able to shield the boys from much, not
all, of the turmoil. Among the recent turmoil, and paling in comparison, was the heartbreaking saga of Eddie. Well, we’ve a new chapter in this particular subsection of the quest for life to be wonderful.

After stalking breeders, adoption, sites and craigslist I found this 1 year old
girl (this is the ad photo).

She is a uncommon breed called “coton de tulear” Her owner could could not keep her because she gets carsick (!). Like, she barfs after 10 minutes in the car. I emailed the owner, a lovely woman who needed a Service Dog and the fact that she gets very carsick made her not an option for the owner. After emailing for a week, researching the breed, and asking every question under the sun, Milo and I went to meet her yesterday.

Guess what happened next.

Her name was Sookie. This morning I called her “Zuzu” and had an “aha moment”. Her name full name is Zuzu Petals Stroll. If you know anything about the movie It’s a Wonderful Life you’ll know how meaningful George’s daughter’s petals are to the previously suicidal man.

She slept in the bed along with Manny (who loves her!) and woke me up this morning with kisses. So, she barfs. There are worse things.
