Birthday Phototacular!

February 20th, 2012 — 4:21am

We had the Reptile Man come to our house for the boys’ birthday party. Below you will see photos that I never thought would happen in my house. With my children. But it was amazing.

Yep, that is the boys and an Alligator.

Gramps sporting the new Boa look for Spring.

Milo wanted to get in on the action and wrap himself in a Boa too.

Family portrait – it was so heavy that I couldn’t sit up straight.

Just Spitting Cobra. He tried to kill Grannie Annie.

Yay! Birthday!

February 13th, 2012 — 1:09am

We had the most amazing party! But, I’m still so tired, I can only post one photo right now.

PS – Milo just said “You guys, I drove a Volvo here today. I’m giving it to Levi. He does not know it is red.”

“I Can’t Believe I’m Four”

February 9th, 2012 — 3:48am

Today has been the most wonderful day. The boys turn FOUR YEARS OLD for crying out loud! They have been celebrating all day long.

Starting with the doctor at Children’s Hospital (just a specialist appointment, nothing to worry about) giving Milo an enormous bag of presents (hospital policy – if a kid is in the hospital for ANY REASON on their birthday they get presents) to lunch at the restaurant of their choice, Red Robin, to their awesome new Plasma Cars to their cupcakes….  it has been a day-long celebration. And here are some photos and movies so you can play along at home.

Their special lunch was followed up by a song and ice cream!

After they came home from playschool the most amazing boquet was awaiting them!

Then after nap we celebrated with cupcakes!

It is important to note that the plate in this picture is the same plate that Elizabeth and I used  to get OUR special things on… like birthdays, graduation, and special stuff like that. I am overjoyed that I get to carry that tradition with the boys.

We’ll share more photos and videos from Saturday’s party where we have invited a special guest star and have a reptile theme!

The (new) Most Dangerous Game

February 7th, 2012 — 7:44pm

When Daddy is alone with the boys there are different rules than when Mommy is home with them. For  instance, Dave and the boys invented a new game which I’ll just call “Broken Neck” for reasons which will become obvious.

What you are looking at is our dear, precious boys riding METAL TONKA TRUCKS which are not valid means of transportation. Sure, you can put rocks, leaves, dirt, and maybe a even kitten in them and play. But these are our big boys RIDING THEM DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. With the garage  door closed. Which they will smash into every single time.

Dave says they both have very disctinct styles. And then I stopped listening because I was going to kill him.

He was very proud that he made them wear helmets. Thank gawd for small miracles.

UPDATE: 1:34 PM

Jen just sent me this video titled “Johnny Knoxvill Style Wipeout”  Click —->”Broken Neck

UPDATE: 1:48 PM

Dave just said “Just for the record, the rules dictate that the garage be open. Jeez. Otherwise how would Levi plow into the lawnmower handle each time?”

I rest my effing case.

UPDATE: 1:50 PM

Jen said “Whoops. Looks like I ignited the Stroll vs. Lake throw down of 2012. I thought this was an approved activity. My bad. No more metal death on wheels down the driveway. Sorry for giving you a heart attack.”

I am not kidding. Our professional Nanny just said “No more metal death on wheels”.

Birthday season is upon us!

February 6th, 2012 — 11:08pm

It is birthday season. The annual non-stop twin party kicked off by Finn and Gray and concluded with Adriaan and Carleena. This is a photo from Ben and Megan’s amazing bouncy house party. I’m not sure why they were all making those faces, because Levi and I were still in the back waiting our turn for the last slide of the day.

Queen of the Fairies

February 2nd, 2012 — 9:10pm

Jen just texted me this photo. She says that Milo keeps getting to the top of the mountain and yelling ” I AM THE QUEEN OF THE FAIRIES!”. She reminds him that he is a King… but he keeps forgetting.

Queen of the Fairies is what the girls play at their playschool.
